Pelvic Power: Yoga for the Core & Pelvic Floor
December 13th 2-3:30pm
Have you ever wondered how your core and pelvic floor affect everyday movements like breathing, walking, lifting, or maintaining balance? The pelvic floor and deep core muscles play an essential role in supporting your spine, stabilizing your body, and maintaining pelvic health. When these muscles aren’t working well together, it can lead to symptoms like pelvic discomfort, back pain, leakage, or a feeling of instability.
Join Dana Podell, a skilled physical therapist and yoga therapist, for this informative and empowering workshop designed to help you better understand the relationship between your core, breath, and pelvic floor. Whether you're experiencing pelvic floor symptoms or simply want to improve your strength, stability, and body awareness, this workshop will provide practical tools to support your pelvic health.
Dana will guide you through gentle yoga therapy and physical therapy–inspired exercises designed to improve coordination between the breath, pelvic floor, and core muscles. You’ll also learn how to recognize common pelvic floor issues and what to do if symptoms or pain flare up.
Join Dana for this enriching experience and discover how greater awareness of your core and pelvic floor can help you move with more strength, confidence, and ease.
What you’ll learn:
A brief overview of pelvic floor and core anatomy so that you understand how these muscles support your body and how dysfunction can contribute to pelvic pain, leakage, or instability.
Gentle breath and movement practices to help improve coordination between the diaphragm, pelvic floor, and deep core muscles so that you can prevent pelvic health issues down the road.
A brief discussion on common pelvic floor concerns and what you can do during an acute flare of pelvic pain or pelvic floor symptoms so that you feel well resourced the next time issues show up “down there”.
Restorative yoga and guided relaxation techniques to release muscle tension in the core and pelvic floor so that you can prevent pain and find comfort in your belly and pelvis.
This workshop is designed for women and individuals with female anatomy. No prior yoga experience is needed.
