4-Week Series
This supportive and empowering 4-week yoga series is designed to help aging adults move with confidence, reduce fall risk, and maintain independence in daily life. Each week focuses on functional movement, targeted strength, balance, and breathwork to support posture, mobility, and overall resilience.
Through accessible yoga postures, mindful transitions, and practical breathing techniques, participants will build the skills needed for real-life movements such as standing up and down, reaching overhead or to the floor, and navigating daily tasks with greater ease and stability.
Weekly Topics:
Week 1 – Postural Awareness
Improve alignment and awareness in the upper back, neck, shoulders, and head. Gentle heart-opening movements support upright posture, balance, and confidence.
Week 2 – Low Back Support
Address low-back pain and stiffness through mobility and core strengthening to improve spinal support and functional movement.
Week 3 – Legs, Balance & Stability
Focus on hip mobility and strength, quads and hamstrings, ankle and foot health, and balance to enhance stability and reduce fall risk.
Week 4 – Breathwork & Integration
Tie everything together with breathwork and functional movement patterns that support respiratory and cardiovascular health, safe transitions, and confidence with everyday activities—supporting aging in place and long-term independence.
