Please join Kula Yoga and Wellness and Tricia Melfe for a Pranayama Practice Workshop!
This workshop is going to be centered around the Breath. We will be performing Pranayama Practices and performing the 5 Principles of a Classical Hatha Yoga Practice. The Pranayama Practices performed will be Ujjayi Pranayama and Nadi Shodhana Pranayama.
This workshop will start off with a 20 minute Hatha Yoga Flow because the energy of Nadi Shodhana Pranayama is very much Yin energy.
Bringing balance to our internal energies and it is a nice warm up for the cool down we are about to experience.
The Hatha Yoga flow would be short, use Ujjayi Breath, start us off in Natural Grounding and seated pose and end with a short Savasana.
After this we will silently sit and observe our breath after the activate Yang part of Practice.
Then, We would come into our Nadi Shodhana Pranayama.
Last but definitely not least, we would do our Meditation Practice. Basking in the 'Fruit of our Labor' and enjoying the stillness within.
Nadi Shodhana pranayama produces an immense amount of Calmness and Tranquility throughout your day and clarity of the mind. Also energetically, it cleanses your Nadis and leads to deep states of meditation and spiritual arising. Physically this breath balances the Parasympathetic and Sympathetic systems which is our calm state and flight or flight state within the body. Balancing this brings great healing to our Vagus Nerve. This is very important for preventing autoimmune disorders caused by stress!
